Ebb & Flow
Growing up on a lake, water has always been part of the visual fabric of my life. I learned to respect the natural world and to honor its natural beauty by sitting at water's edge with my grandfather. Hours of my childhood were absorbed by just looking.
As an adult, I came back to water when the stress of work and life became too much. Needing a break from the world, I returned to my childhood lake and found peace through the meditative act of looking at and photographing water.
I've learned that in water, as in life, the chaos can be calmed by taking in each moment with intention and appreciating the natural ebb and flow.
This project is the first installment of a life-long study of water.
